Boss BR600 Digital Multitrack Recorder

The BR-600 is a quite useful machine, the main problem is there are some limitations. There isn't really 8 tracks but in reality are 4 unique tracks and 2 stereo tracks. The limitation occurs when recording back up guitar, two drum tracks, bass and then, oops, out of tracks, have to mix down. The unit uses 1Gig Flash Memory or smaller. You can't use a larger capacity memory. 1G will fill up after 5 or 6 songs if you've recorded a few takes and mixed down a few times. The unit comes with a 256M chip that won't last long. At $50 - $60 each the 1G memory chips will eat up a lot of cash. Also, the 1Gig Flash chips are getting hard to find since most consumers want larger memory capacity for newer devices.

For about $50 more than the new BR-600 you can pick up the Fostex MR-16HD. This machine has a 40Gig hard drive. It also has 8 unique inputs, with 4 stereo tracks. A similar problem to the BR-600, but 8 tracks give you much more versatility than 4.

Snare Drum Stand - Chrome - Pro Quality - Adjustable

Aside from the name pro quality there is nothing in this stand as far from "professional quality" as you can get. My father has been a professional drummer for 40 years. He bought this stand to hold a vintage tom he was adding to one of his kits. (Didn't want to harm its vintage value by drilling holes for a new mount.)

The stand is weak, rickety, loose, unstable and at its highest point it's still lower than most professional stands. It would have been too low and shaky for my father even if used as a snare drum holder. For the tom it just doesn't work at all.

We're sending it back for a refund today. Instead of this, pop's using an old snare basket holder mounted on a DW cymbal stand for the tom.

ART USB Dual Pre 2 Channel Preamp

This mini toy is good, when you want to record your music and mix it in your computer. Why? This is a few reason,  it is small (portable), easy to use, and quite powerful.

The setup with this unit is extremely simple. here are the steps I followed:
1. Plug the mics into the XLR input jacks on the front
2. Connect the unit to your PC with the USB cable - if you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 it is recognized immediately as a USB device
3. Select "USB audio codec" as your default recording device in Windows by right-clicking on the speakers icon in the taskbar
4. Choose he recording properties that you want (I picked stereo / 16-bit / 48 kHz) and save this selection by clicking OK
5. Fire up your recording software ( I use Sony Sound Forge)
6. Set the levels of each channel using the hardware gain control knobs on the device
7. You are ready to record

A strong "buy" recommendation, if you want to make quick and easy CD-quality live recordings with extreme portability. Absolutely amazing value for money - there is nothing in the market at this quality and price point that I am aware of.

Fender Frontman 10G 10W Guitar Combo Amp, Black

It is small, light, fairly loud for its size, built like the proverbial tank, no unwanted extras. And it's quite cheap! It produce a very clear clean sound, which you can dirty up a bit via the built-in overdrive (there's a button and a gain dial), and nicely built. I especially like that, unlike many competing products, this amp is free from the usual multitude of built-in effects. My view is, if I need something, I'll hook up a pedal; good clean sound is all I need from a "bedroom" amp -- and I don't want to pay for what I don't need; from that standpoint the 10G looks ideal. This thing is good for practice and no-drums creative sessions with friends.

String Swing Hardwood Home & Studio Guitar Hanger

Compared those $12 to $14 guitar hanger with this $9. I am glad to tell you that the structural quality is as very much similar than more expensive options and the wood grain is much better looking than the picture would indicate.
Others have suggested that these be mounted to a stud but the included drywall anchors, when installed correctly, are very secure and would easily withstand the heaviest guitar you have (unless, perhaps, you play a 4" thick solid ebony instrument). If your studs are 16" apart, you could utilize them (staggered mounting if necessary) and get a fairly dense wall of guitars but if your studs are 24" apart you'll have a large (8"+) gap between instruments and may wish to opt for drywall anchors for some instruments as I have.

The back of my acoustic instruments (000, 00, Parlor & Classical) sit well clear of the back wall so I haven't had the need to put protective backing on the wall behind them (consider some backing if children or careless adults will be removing & replacing instruments from the wall). If you plan to use these for electrics, I'd opt for the electric specific hangers so they hang closer to the wall.

As a guitar builder, here's some advice for any newbies:
Keep your instrument in it's (humidity controlled) hard case except when playing. Failing that, keep it up high using a wall hanger and control humidity for the entire room (40 to 50%). I've seen far too many instruments get damaged when sitting down on a guitar stand.

Planet Waves 10 Standard Guitar Picks - Celluloid - Assorted Pearl-Medium

I use my pick since I got them, and they work great and give a good sound. The main problem  is the picks was shipped in a box that is approx. 5x7" and come in a small plastic bag, therefore the shipping is outrageous. Why'd they do that? Because it would much simpler if it was shipped in a plain envelope and not cost the customer $5.00 to ship. More like the cost of a stamp and maybe tracking less than $1.50. Also the shipping time is far to long of a wait. I ordered a guitar at the same time and recieved it a week before recieving these picks.

I use these pics all the time they have a good feel to em they are very nice and colorful they stick out like a sore thumb on carpet so they are hard to loose and these picks are durable am im a heavy metal guitarist so when i say something is durable its durable I highly recommend these picks to anyone good price good picks stop reading this review and just buy .

Epiphone LP Standard Plus-Top Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Vintage Sunburst

I purchased this guitar from Guitar Center about a year ago. Guitar is simply beautiful. For the money I paid there has never been a nicer looking guitar than the Les Paul, it just screams classic rock. The play ability is very good, it isn't a Gibson, but most players don't have the money to purchase a Gibson when they are first starting.
The only minor complaint being the stock pick-ups are little muddy.
I added a couple of Seymour Duncan humbuckers and had the action lowered which greatly improved the sound and ease of playing. Play this guitar through a Line 6 Flextone and you can have really good tone for under a grand.

Yamaha EZ-200 61 Full-Sized Touch Sensitive Lighted Keyboard Bundle: Includes Professional Headphones, Keyboard Stand, and Power Supply

This keyboard have some characteristic. Such as the keys are not "weighted" of course, but they are pressure sensitive. So hitting the keys softly or hard produces different volumes accordingly. Though I believe the volume is strictly 3 phases;loud-medium-soft. There is an option to turn the sensitivity off allowing any press of the keys to produce a loud volume. "Loud" is of course a relative term, here I use it just to distinguish between 3 volumes. The speakers on the keyboard itself are definitely NOT loud. They are sufficient. Tonally they offer a somewhat projective treble tones, but the mid to low-range sounds almost seem as though they are muted. It makes for a frustrating playing experience. The keys light up as you press them as well as when there is a preprogrammed song playing. I suppose this is a nice feature for those who are trying to learn the songs they have programmed in the machine. The keys themselves are a cheap plastic which makes them susceptible to misalignment and loosening if you run your fingers down the keyboard laterally, which children seem to love to do. It comes preprogrammed with 100 songs, 5 of which are contemporary, the rest are jazzed up versions of old standards such as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

M-Audio AXIOM 25-Key Semi-Weighted Keyboard USB MIDI Controller

Deciding not to do note by note recording?? Then try this toy.
Use Pro Tools LE to do most of the recordings. The semi weighted keys let you program different velocities when playing creating a more interesting and human effect (especially on cymbals)

Difficult to program? I don't think so. I downloaded the Enigma software from the M-Audio website and the job was automatically done. Programming keys on a Mac is piece of cake, just drag and drop! BFD can also program the keys in auto mode. Don't be fooled for those who are saying is complicated to assign sound to the keys.

Low price, great specs.

White Pearl Drum Set Full Adult Size with Cymbals Stool Sticks Stand 5 Piece Kit

Have seen one of these drum set?? Well i haven't, so when my friend bought this, i was wondering what kind of sound it will produce...

First off all, the original drum skin is not very good. You must replace it with other, i prefer Evans, Remo, and Attack. After the replacement i think it is quite good with the sound it produce.
Then the cymbal, the original cymbal kit is not very good either. It is like hitting on steel or something. Try replacing it with other, like Zildjian Planet-Z, Paiste 101, or Stagg.

Finally we got ourselves a quite good drum set with good sound, but I personally would not recommend this drum set for player. But if you are just a beginner, then this toy will suit you fine. Don't waste money for something that you don't know for sure.

Fender Starcaster Strat Pack - 3-Tone Sunburst

Pros:
-Generally well-constructed and and nicely finished & appointed, and it arrived in very good shape
-very responsive pick-ups, considering: bass & tonality very good
-good slide guitar action & sound
-Everything you need to start up...as listed...BTW, mine DID include headphones with a 1/4" adapter
-nicely packaged and comes in a nice box...presents well as a gift to your budding rock star

Cons:
-the tuners adjust very sloppily...not a big deal for beginners, but if important to some, they can be replaced. Two of mine are leaking at their seals, and I am going to see if Fender will provide replacements
-as mentioned by others, the frets are not finished well and might cut fingers that are not callused [not a problem for me]...but they can be filed off
-the strings are not the best...even the expensive guitars come with them...I'm putting on either Elixir or Ernie Ball strings
-the amplifier is not bad for what it is...however, it produces a rapid ticking noise at high volume [it sounds like a clipping transistor], almost 200 ticks per minute. This is a design flaw in the amp...not a defect. Can't expect much better for what it is, though.

Other Notes:
-the neck and fretboard on mine were both maple; the fretboard was not rosewood [as stated in the product description], which I would have preferred, but no biggie
-mine is made in China, but it's understandable
-the stand is a bit flimsy.
-I haven't tested the tuner...but I don't use them...however it does tune quite well using the "harmonics" method

Overall, I'd say it is a definite "buy"...maybe not at the MSRP, but in the $100 to $125 range.

Good luck!

Casio CTK-3000 Premium Pack with Power Supply, Keyboard Stand and Professional Closed Cup Stereo Headphones

Want to learn keyboard? Then you must have keyboard set for practice.

Casio CTK-3000 Premium Pack comes with Power Supply, Keyboard Stand and Professional Closed Cup Stereo Headphones, is a great pack to get started.

I really don't think I could have found a better keyboard at the price of the Casio CTK3000. After much research, I decided on this keyboard because of the number of keys and the fact that it came with a stowaway stand, headphones and charger. For me, an adult who is just learning piano, it was essential for me to have headphones so I wasn't disturbing everyone in the house. The keyboard is really easy to use. I didn't even read any of the instructions. I just plugged it in and started practicing.

The stand is a little difficult to adjust and it doesn't attach as securely to the stand as I would like it to, but it's not unstable or anything. The keyboard sort of just sits on top of the stand. This is not a problem for an adult, but if you're looking at getting this keyboard for a child, then you may want to take that into account. This keyboard also works great on a regular table, as long as you have one that is at an appropriate height for practicing.

The keyboard also comes with a little bar that you insert into the back of the keyboard to hold your sheet music or lesson book. There is a groove at the top center of the keyboard to prevent the sheet music/book from slipping. I found that the other reviews I read and the product description didn't note that the keyboard does have a space to hold music. Of course that may be something that is just standard on keyboards, but, as a piano novice, I was not aware of this.

Bottom line, I think this keyboard is excellent quality for the price and will last a beginner quite a while.

Behringer HPX2500 High-definition DJ Headphones

Headphones is a must have gear for Disc Jockey, then this Behringer HPX2500 High  Definition DJ Headphones can be one of the choice.

In picture, the HPX2500 looked pretty good for a pair of twenty-something-dollar headphones. Seeing the actual product and using it for sometime, I deem it an excellent headphone for the money. I'll rate its quality at 8.5 out of 10. The headphone jack and cord use a lot heavier gauge materials then the competition. Berhringer is a maker of studio musical equipment.

You should be aware that because the HPX2500 is NOT a closed-type headphone, there is little to no sound isolation. In other words, if there is some sound in the environment, you will hear it. Conversely, others will be able to hear what you are listening, albeit at much reduced volume. This is called an open-type headphone. IMO, open-type headphones seem to offer better clarity. On the other hand, closed-type may offer more bass. What you listen to most should be the deciding factor in selecting open or closed headphone design.

Line 6 POD XT Live Bag

Constantly dragging  your gear? Need a convenient bag?
Then this Line 6 POD XT Live Bag is indeed a safe way to store and tote among other things.

This bag can hold the Pod, AC Adaptor, power strip,  three instrument cables, a mic cable, the power cord to your amp, and you can also put in Shure SM57 in its pouch. It's snug with all that gear, but the zippers are really tough and the zipper pulls are a heavy duty metal.
The strap is heavy duty and has nice padding and very solid metal "clips" (for lack of a better word) to attach it to clips on the bag. They are double reinforced. I sling it on my shoulder and I've got one free hand for a guitar and the other to open doors.

So really, my pedal and all of my accessories go in this bag and that's it. No more gear laying around in my trunk. Plus the pedal is very well protected. The bag is well padded all around. Also, it cuts down on trips back to the car.

Boulder Creek A8293/BL Deluxe Classical Guitar Case

This Boulder Creek A8293/BL Deluxe Classical Guitar Case is a perfect companion for your acoustic guitar.
Made from solid material, makes your guitar safe during the trip.
It may be a little heavy, but it is as solid as a tank.

Want to travel with your guitar? Then this hard case is worth the dollar.
For only $100 you can get a great product.
A great product with a great price, that is all it is...

Boss CE5 Chorus Ensemble Pedal

It is the best chorus guitar effect pedal I've ever tried.
The best thing about this pedal, besides the possible tonal variety, is the fact that this chorus isn't one of those lush sounding pedals, BOSS CE-5 give great sound in any possible way. You will get a pretty lush sound out of it using the depth knob. With this pedal you will get the chance to experiment to your heart content.

Give the BOSS CE-5 a chance. I think you will be surprised by the results. It's time to sell your other chorus pedals now. Get one of these and start rocking...

Yamaha RBX-170- Old Violin Sunburst 4-String Electric bass, is one of the RBX line up bass by Yamaha.

But I would personally recommend this bass for playing funk.

It produces warmth and deep sound yet bright. Perfect combination for bass player.
The neck is made with quality maple and rosewood fret board.
The controller consists of a master tone control and two volume knob.
The pick up is j and split type.

This bass is a perfect bass for player who seek for value with the top line quality.

Fender Starcaster Acoustic Guitar Pack

There are some countries that manufactured this guitar, like Indonesia, China, Korea.

The sound, construction, and finishing at this price is very good.
The aren't much accessories within the package, Korg CA-30 chromatic tuner for example.
You might want to change the strings to lighter gauge coated strings.
It is highly recommend for a beginner or player with limited funds.
Changed the stock Fender string with lighter set, it will give you more comfort.

Overall it is a well priced guitar with good sound, very suited for beginners.
